I was watching a workshop with Abraham Hicks and I heard a profound statement. It was meant to be told to children but it can impact all of your relationships. It can be said to yourself, your spouse, ex, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child.
"I don't get to choose for you, you get to choose for you. I know enough about you to know that you will always make the right choices for you. I'm going to do my very best to feel good about the choices that you make. Not because I'm going to try to agree with your choices, but because I'm not going to allow your variety of choices keep me from my connection to who i really am. I want to demonstrate for you what connection is to source. It is my only wish for you that you get connected to source first, then follow through with any other plans that you have."
I think that this is one of the most freeing and powerful statements in all our relationships. Allowing others to be who they choose to be without are self imposed conditions. Love is timeless and unconditional, if we truly love another we must let go of our preconceived notions of who they should be.
